Carolina-Fest
Today Charlotte kicked off the convention week with Carolina-Fest 2012. This was a family-friendly, Labor Day celebration presented by the Charlotte 2012 host committee featuring interactive expositions, family-oriented activities, live music, speakers and a taste of the Carolinas. Many of the venders were local small businesses throughout the greater Carolina area. Small businesses like these have benefitted from the Jump Start Our Business Startup (JOBS) Act signed by President Obama which provides a new form of financing for small companies.
This event is the first of several events that the DNC created to engage more Americans in the process. Both opening and closing events open to the public will revolutionize national political campaigns.
The people of Charlotte, the volunteers, law enforcement and campaign organizers have all come together to start off this week with an upbeat, fun day. The Delco delegation spent the day enjoying all the southern hospitality that Charlotte had to offer and will end the evening with festivities with a "Southern Summer Soiree" at the Randolph Mint Museum.
Kat Caudle, DCDC Executive Director say FOUR MORE YEARS!
